Default need help with videos

lately, as i go to watch a video in firefox, or even IE, the movie is completly black. the sound works perfectly fine and everything, its just that there is no picture, only black.

i am taliking about places like this:

i can watch a video perfectly fine in media player, but not in that environment. any suggestions?

It is possible that you need to download some codecs. It is the only thing I can think of off hand.

tried, no good.
this problem is there in firefox, and in internet explorer. i can take the same exact vid off of putfile <that didnt work>, save it, open it up, and watch the vid with no problems. unfortunately not all sites let you do that.

thanks for the ideas, keep them coming. if you like, hit me on any of the IM clients if you would like to do that.
