She seems to think that her taurus <93> can take on the sho off the line and up to about 20mph. i think she is insane! i just set back and watch them bring it up day after day, while driving my tempo that cant even get out of its own way right now. does she stand a chance? any body "talked business" with an sho? any good? i cant convince my dad to open his up all the way. something about 14mpg when he plays with it.

Toss-up. The 3.8 in the Taurus is a daily driver motor and has pretty good torque down low. The SHO is a pure HP motor and takes a second or two to really kick up the power.
Anything more than 15mph, though, and the SHO is gonna eat the Taurus alive.

The 3.2 started life as an aircraft engine. Light, lots of HP, no torque.

LOL, I've seen plenty of them that have BEEN turboes by the owner. That'* probably what got you.

Its like a snowmobile engine. They thrive at over 4000 rpm. I think you're mom will hang with you to 20mph, not beat you. Once you hit 4000 rpm its all over for mom.

Oh, yea. Are you manual? I drove a 94' auto SHO once and found it to be O.K. I drove a manual 91' and it was fast.

auto. the tranny does hang really bad in first when its cold. its a taurus thing.
