Not what you thought it is, eh? The engine was a low compression 50cc motor out of a 1976 Honda Z50A, and it'* going in a 1979 Z50R frame. The Z50R has an 88cc motor in it now, which isn't too reliable, so this fifty is just so I can ride the bike around reliably.
Here'* the motor half way through a paint job (head and middle of case will be silver). What I've done to it: New clutch plates, clutch disks, cylinder bored .50 over with a .50 piston, and a fresh paint job of course!
This beast pumps out 3hp and 2.5 ft lbs....woot!

Here'* a pic of the original paint job I put on it, which I decided was really crappy so I redid it.

I remember the Honda 50"* when they first came out back in the early 70'*. Those were good little engines. They had clutchless 3 speed transmissions didn't they? IIRC

Not clutchless, they have a centrifical clutch. Yeah, theyre 3 speeds. The little things are damn near impossible to kill.
The first fifties actually came out in the late 60s, with the Z50.

I had one 1979 bike with the 70cc in it, called "Mini-trail" here.
This bike was slow but unbeatable, i did everything possible with that bike, i sold it 4 year ago and i think its still running.

I'm sure it is still running =). If this is what it looked like http://www.thescooterguys.com/79ct70ltjpeg.jpg then it was a CT70. I just have a passion for these little 50s, no idea why =).
