Mine'* a '06 SV650S... get'* ridden a lot with the short commute and the high price of fuel.

My brother has a real nice naked SV650 and has had all kinds of problems with it. Something happened to it that fried every electrical component except the spark plugs and starter...guages, computer, regulator, and every bulb on the bike.

I found that the cost of owning a bike far outweighs any gas savings. (tires, clutches, forks, chains, insurance, extra license, fairings if you drop it, etc etc.

Nobody should buy a bike solely for that reason. If you do, you're in it for the wrong reasons. People that ride bikes love them, and are willing to pay for it. The improved MPGs here and there are just icing on the cake.
