I'm a yankee from Chicago and still hear "You talk funny, you ain't from around here are ya?" from the folks down here in MS. I still have my Chicago style of talking/attitude. However, after 8 years of living in MS I have picked up just a slight accent. Very slight.

not me, im full blown red neck. all my friends are and so ive picked up the lingo. i can pass for a yankee but i have to try very hard. I use ya'll and fixin to all the time. plus alot of other words as well. its bad. but im not gonna complain, it does keep me from thta dreaded "you aint from around here" everyone is shocked when i tell them im from chicago!!LOL!!

I pronounce it "Bonnaville"... With the "e" being pronounced as an "a".

My father-in-law and I argue about it all the time because he pronounces it "BonnEville". With a hard "e".

I think he is right, but I'll never let him know that!

We pronounce it with the e my grandpa who happens to have been born in pennsyvania (sorry about the spelling) and moved to ny pronounces it with an 'a' but for for the most part I call it the 'black hole' because all the money I make from my mininum (spelt right??) wage job go into my bonnie

Will: I know seeing somewhere on this fourm some kind of list of comandments and one of them was about spelling so will forgive me because I made a few mistakes and since I'm typing on my sidekick I don't have a spell checker
