don't do it!

I hated Target. Having a really shitty manager, getting beat out to security job because the other guy was older (but only 5'2"), and them ignoring me everytime i needed time off made me really hate the place.

Tried retail before. If I had to do it again, violence would ensue. I am NOT cut out for sales.

Ok so for an entire 48hours before your next exam, eat limited quantaties of sugars and carbs. No eating at all 12 hrs before your exam. just water. If its still bad then you really need to see your doctor. I would have recommended you seeing your Dr asap but theres no way you could have gotten an A1C results back in time to make a difference before your next DOT Physical.

That reading you got could very well have been from a coke and a burger you had an hour before the exam. I hope its this simple.

Good luck and best wishes!
Tim

Exam was fairly early in the morning for me, so I hadn't eaten breakfast yet.
I am avoiding sugary stuff like the plague, drinking diet pop, and trying to limit carb-heavy stuff. My sugar this morning was 200, so something seems to be working.
I think the fact that I have been hitting the Mountain Dew really hard lately didn't help that number. Cutting that out will probably be the biggest difference.
Doc gave me a couple samples of some stuff called Avandamet, to take morning and night.

Well, at least I know I can cope with it. The only question is whether I can get back to work. If not, then I really am screwed.

Even if you turn out to be a diabetic it shouldn't keep you from driving. Even if you can't controll it with diet and need to go on a regular med, as long as your sugar levels are in check you should be fine, I would think the worse thing would be you might have to go back for your DOT exam more often then 24 months, might be more like 6 months for a while, just so the can make sure you're keeping your levels in check.

It may take another week to get your medication dialed in but I think you'll be on the road soon. Its not like your at risk of passing out with high blood sugar, It have to get really high 500+ before any affects would be noticable and I don't recall blacking out being one of them. Blackouts are usually caused by low sugar levels (overmedicated)

Avandamet sure rings a bell, I bet I was on it at one point. I hope thats not the one that screwed up my liver. Doc say anything about a liver function test in 6 months?

but if all fails and you're really screwed, do you have a back up plan, like a different career available?

And will this affect the Columbus meet?
