Default It'* a Snap!

My other car was a 21 year old Toyota Corolla and it was getting on in years. A friend of mine just bought a new New Beetle so I bought her "old" 2002 New Beetle.

This was one of the VW'* special editions for 2002. I'm not sure exactly how many were made but it was not too many.

They call this color Snap Orange

I borrowed these photo'* from this site to show you "The Buggy"

Bleh, i'm sorry mate. My mom has one [not a snap, but a yellow one]. I hate it.. gutless beyond description. There is no torque pull on her car. All you really hear is the engine revving, and the speed increasing.. but you certainly don't feel it.

Yeah, we also have seat warmers. They can be fairly optioned out.. but that'* because they don't come with power windows standard. It'* not a car I would own, myself. However, a classic bug.. i'd jump all over. Mmm.. classic VW *drools*

1600. DOH! One of these days I'm going to start reading these sites. Yeah, the Turbo is a real "kick-in-the pants" feeling. I have to get use to paying for Premium Unleaded though for this "joy-ride". This one also has an Automatic Tranny.

My daughter, who is getting her driver'* permit next month, said "Daaaad, couldn't you get it in some other color???!!!" Well, at least everyone at her school will know whose car it is when she gets her driver'* license next year. And with only 1600 of these things produced, you won't see this color too often.

LOL! I'm not sure what will be there permenantly, but it sure beats my "Flower Power" bug of the 60'*.

Yeah, this has everything I never had in my original 67 Bug. Heat, A/C, Anti-Lock Disc Brakes, 150 Net HP vs 50 Gross HP, lots of safety, and the Bun Warmers

With the 115 HP, 2.0 standard engine, I agree with you. It is pretty "gutless". You're mom must have one of the earlier New Beetles because the later ones came standard with Power Windows. That might actually be a GOOD thing for your mom, because one of the problems with the New Beetle is with the power window switches.
Yes, I too have wanted my old '67 Classic back. But, it'* not a practical car for everyday use and I have no place to store it so I could take it out on a sunny Saturday or Sunday. But deep down inside? Yeah, I wish for the bad ol' days.
