Default Interesting new problem in the taurus...

93 gl with the 3.8

im stopped at the traffic light, had been stopped for several seconds, when it feels like i got bumped from behind. i look back, and find nobody at all. i thought this was weird. it does it again at the next stop light. it doesnt matter if im on the brakes hard, or just enough to keep me stopped, it feels like somebody bumped me. i doubt the car moves, because it does it even when the brakes are applied at full. its not the brakes, its not the tranny downshifting, because it goes all the way down to first coming to a stop. what else can it be? shoot some ideas my way please

like a trunk monkey?

nope, there is nothing in the trunk, save for the mounted spare tire, jumper cables, and scattered papers.
