I'm not really too too sure what I would do with it yet, but I found the parts online to build a 160GB external USB 2.0 hard drive for roughly $125. Now that I got my new camera I have already been taking lots of pics... and I assume that I will continue to do so and an external HD would be a great way to move lots of them quickly and easily and would be a great place to store them.
What kind of system is it on? and do you have an IDE or SATA hard drive internally right now? Because I have a 120gb SATA drive [150mb/*, instead of 133mb/* on IDE], and I just filled it up last night, I have 5 gb left.. I guess I need to stop downloading.. Oh well.. I paid $110 for it, in January this year. I think the $160 was just $20 more, but now I regret I didn't buy that one.. Tigerdirect[.com] has great deals on computer components.. I pretty much buy all of my stuff there, just because I can get it next day, with only ups ground!
. I love living right by the warehouse. Just make sure the drive has an 8mb cache, 2mb sucks, and there is a large difference between the two, trust me. I have two hard drives [as of now, since I just bought a new one], and it is a 2mb cache, since it will just be my secondary drive, and it is atleast 3 tenths of a second slower per 150mb/* from my 8meg cache primary. if that is too advanced, and want more simple explanation.. buy that hard drive.. if it has the 8mb cache. otherwise you can get it cheaper.

Right now I belive that I have a 160 SATA 7200RPM internal hard drive. The external is an IDE connection and yes it does have an 8MB buffer plus the case looks pretty cool...
