I hope Jennifer GranMOLE sleeps well tonight after her day late and a dollar short attempt at keeping Audi and VW in Michigan...
VW has really struggled the last 2-3 years, a lot of people blame the marketing. The MK4 Mexi-jetta reliability has really hurt their image, and the new beetle is churning sales quite like it did when it was introduced. VW USA'* boss needs to get over himself and bring over cars Directly from Europe, instead of continuing to water them down...
However Audi is really taking off in the US, and world wide. My dad'* new "attainable in the next decade" type car is the RS4, and the only two foreign cars he'* owned have been the 01 camry we have, and hte 80'* SAAB we got rid of when we moved to FL in '88.
Auto industry isn't the easiest job to keep right now, but I think within 5 years most of the companies will have gotten on the upswing again, especially the US ones. Good luck with whatever you do though

Well, we finally received notification internally. The move is official. (like we didn't know that) They are planning on moving 400 positions to the new location in Herndon Virginia. They are going to keep 600 positions in Oakland County. That leaves roughly 400 positions that will be cut. Starting next week and lasting for ten days, we have to meet with our respective management to discuss our "future role" with the company... So I have to wait at least another week or so to find out if I have to start looking for another job.
