Default I got a new pet also...

Here'* a picture of Maurice. He'* a Snapper about a foot across. After several trips back to the lake I gave up and let him occupy the pond in the back yard. I figured one wasn't so bad and would keep the rest away. He'* been with us about a month now.

He'* been having a good time with alot of frogs and toads to munch, they come to breed here every years by the busloads. Well, today Maurice has a new girl and he seems to like his women built large. I came around the side of the house to see them both up on a 5 foot + piece of slate I put out in the water on cinderblock piers a couple years back. So anyways, here'* Maurice with his new significant other, BEULA! She'* one helluva specimen and the largest snapper I've seem locally.

I took him back twice Dakota but the stubborn thing came back up the creek from the lake and across my yard again. There have been several but he is distinguishable by a bite mark above his left shoulder on his shell. I figured if he could make that trek twice, meh..... let him have it. The frogs are a bit much anyway. Some nights you can't sleep their out there partying all night. I can't see Beula staying long except to breed, She'll starve.

Wow, Maurice looks huge, as well as his girl. I have a painted turtle that I got about 14 years ago.. I had two, but they started fighting one night, so my parents separated them, one was put outside in a plastic baby bathtub, and died from the shock of being out in the colder air. I didn't mind that, he bit me twice. lol

Nice looking couple there. Adds to the diversity of your pond.
