Default new dog, going home monday and a civic that uses more gas than my car

hey all. as some of you might know ive been here since the 15th of last month. (memphis with the gf) the cars been parked the whole time except for drive ins and last saturday when we went to a small city out of little rock to get my new dog, harley. shes a minpin/daschund mix.(im aware girls dog but a coworker was going to have to get rid of it because her toddler kept throwing it)

so my car has been parked since i got here apart from those times and weve been driving her 2002 2 door civic, because i made the stupid assumption that a little 4 banger that takes 25 seconds to get to 60 would get better mileage than my car that has been averaging 30 hwy.

before i go home i was thinking of checking her plugs but not much else because she is coming up on the 4th of july weekend and i can work on it in my grandmothers air-conditioned garage lol. any other quick things i can check out in the heat? not looking for a ton of work time on the asphalt parking lot on her black on black civic lol

anyway, just a little check in.

Bad O2 sensors can cause bad gas milege..and if they're the original ones, they might be worth changing anyways. 9 chances out of 10 you'll see some increase in mileage. Something quick that you can check include inspecting the air filter to make sure its clean.
