I open up myself to this forum and all I get is blah blah blah................go see the doctor. If I wanted that advice I could have talked to my 12 year old daughter.

Wow...I missed the Frank Bashing. I was going to hold his merchandise hostage until he got his knee checked out.
Still swollen after one month...here'* my prediction: Strained Knee. 800mg Ibuprophen three times a day. Possibly an MRI but probably not if it'* swollen as i believe the fluid tends to obscur the soft tissues. Instead, he'll have to either stay off his knee totally for 2-3 weeks...OR he'll have to wear a brace and be on crutches for 5-6.
But...I'm just Dr. Mom...let'* see what the Real Doctor says.
