The question remains, get out while we still can, or stay and try to finish? Are we in over our heads? Quite possibly...
Not a problem...
What I meant, was that religion shouldn't play a role in economics, it is neither safe nor smart.
And yes I do believe whole hartedly in the seperation of religion and everything.
In my opinion it has no place in gov't, big business, etc... It should be a personal experiance and not a public one. I don't know if that makes sense or not, but extremeisim seems to rear it'* ugly head from the masses and not idividuals.
Yes it is individauls carrying out these acts of terror, but orginized in to religious cells that appear to appeal to the masses of those people over there. Otherwise the common man over there would give these people up. And yes they know who they are. Just like we know who the bad guys are in our hoods.
No worries.... just frustration.

I say stay and finish what we started. We are not a weak nation and shouldn't be looked upon as such. We are one to reckon with and they will know it. It may not make sense to us and may not be popular among public opinion but you can't please all the people all the time. We didn't start this but we should and will finish it.
I agree we should stay and finish what we started, but I think it needs new administration to get the job done.
Unfortunatley, we may as Emeril says, "have to kick it up a notch."
And at some point we are going to have to find a way to pull out that save face for everyone.
Going to be difficult.

for those unhappy people- they can scratch their a$$ and get happy. They ain't willing to do anything to help except be armchair generals and we got more than enough of those. If you ain't willing to be part of the solution don't become part of the problem.
Well, no one said fighting this was gonna be easy...that doesn't mean we give up when things look difficult.
As for separation of church and state, it'* a great ideal--but in practice it'* impossible, always has been-always will be. Religion will be in government, schools, economy and science even, for as long as there are followers of any religion. And really, that is the point of religion, I think anyone who belongs to a religion will really have a hard time finding a part of their life that their religious beliefs don't touch. Actually if you come up with something, tell me--I can't think of one. But to be fair, those who belong don't belong to a religion are have every part of thier life affected by their lack of religion (and to be clear, I said "lack of religion" not lack of morals, or lack of anything...just so no one comes after me...I just mean no belief in a God). Religion is a part of who we are, and in turn we are part of the government, the schools and economy.
/slighly, well mostly, off topic rant

Interesting related ussue. I ordered some parts last week at work, and found out yesterday I can't get them. The Vendor was Omega Engineering. Apparently they got caught by the US Governement shipping load cells and other tech equipment to terrorist camps in Pakistan, going all the way back to 1997.
The Government has shut them down for the most part, at least as far as import/export is concerned. Knowing what I know now, even if I COULD order from them, I'd find an alternate vendor now.

They can say that they possibly support their cause, but it would be an excuse, most assuredly...
