Could be, I've seen it go both ways. My sister'* 18 month old boy looks JUST LIKE ME. That would support your theory of the boy looking like the mom'* side. But I look like my dad, who is a few inches taller than mom, but she'* tall for a woman. My sisters are short (5'8" - 5'3"), my brother is 6'4".
I'll make sure my boys drink their milk and take their Flintstones.
