Speaking from an ex-construction workers point of view, apartments would have small windows in the showers to allow moisture to escape. There'* way too many morons out there that think since they don't own it, they don't need to be careful with it and would leave the room closed and wet. The most economicaal way to deal with this is to put a window in there.

Now, it the security camers happen to be able to see into them, BONUS!!

The current method is a simple ceiling fan, I tend to wire them into the main light switch if someone chooses that option.

Windows in a shower is kinda antiquated.
