I just realized that my headline is going to sound like a bad pun and I didn't mean it to, but oh well. I live in a very small city. In fact, it'* generally referred to as a city, but it'* so small that I'm not actually convinced it qualifies. Our crime rate is fairly low, but bad stuff does happen here and it doesn't usually shock me. (I say this because, growing up in a small town, I frequently heard people say things like "how could something like that happen here?") But just now I read in the paper that over this past weekend someone vandalized a local church and tried to set it on fire...a church that is directly behind my house...I'm sort of freaked that an attempted arson happened in my back yard and I didn't notice anything.

What were you drinking this weekend? j/k It is amazing how things happen like that so close to home.

They think it happened Friday night, so my lack of observance might very possibly have had something to do with a bit too much red wine on an empty stomach , but still....

What about the stabbing on Elm street a couple weeks ago (by the same guy that carjacked someone at knifepoint a year or so ago)?

And people wonder why I carry a gun. (not you Am...I know you understand )

I thought that stabbing was on Sesame Street (yes, we have a Sesame Street, and strangely, it'* one of the worst parts of town ) Anyway, I just read that in the paper and had to express my surprise...or maybe my shame that I didn't notice it happening To my credit, I got home at about ten, after spending hours in a car with three other adults and four kids (luckily they're super cute and funny), way overtired, barely having eaten all day, and had some wine and went to sleep...

Oh yah...oops . Elm street was the stabbing a few years ago.

The point remains though (that one made me shudder a little)

For such a small place, with a low overall crime rate, we do seem to have an awful lot of stabbings. It'* freaky.

I'm not sure but I hear that Grover can be viiolent when he'* loaded.

That'* even worse because I know a guy nicknamed Grover.
