Default HELP I got Carpenter Ants in my house

My wife found saw dust on the window seal yesterday I live in an old house and found it coming out of a crack in the ceiling above the window. The ants are crawling in and out of it. I went to an exterminator today and they said the only reason I could have them is because I have a water leak somewhere. I did have a leak in that area from the roof 4 years ago. I had the roof and gutters replaced back in 03. I don't see any evidence of a leak. They are going to come out next week, Thursday to take a look at it and give me a price to treat them. They said if the wood isn't getting wet/damp from a leak the ants would go away by them self.

Anyone have any experiance with this?

Thanks
