Default Help here pricing please.......in $CDN

Im adding up the repairs I need to make to the Regal to get it in perfect condition, so I can compare it with buying a used car.

1. Power steering, clunk, and gap fix ( typical GM problem )
2. Front shocks, mounts, everything need replaced
3. Fuel tank is rusted to ****.
4. Full exhaust system, as current has numerous leaks
5. FULL interior shampoo, and steam cleaning of EVERYTHING ( HORRIBLE carpet stains)

Ok, lets add!!!!!! Thanks boys

Well here'* go nothing......

1. Try replacing the PS Pump seal (most common problem)
2. Go with Monroes or better!
3. Get a fuel cell
4. Check with your local Exhaust shop for a Custom "CAT Back" system.
5. Upholstry shop is your best bet.

In dollars I would have to say
1) $20 for a seal,
2) $200 for shocks and mounts
3) $100 from the wreckers
4) $250 from canadian tire
5) $30 rent one and cleaners
$600 total?

Well I just did the front struts last week on my 90 SSE. They had problems getting the right ones cause there is more than one option for the struts. I paid 90$ each CAD for them then it was about 2 hours labour to install them plus I had the front end re-aligned. So about 200$ for struts then 40$ for alignment then labour for the struts.
I am guessing about 400$ total.
I changed my tank and got a used one from a caddy from arizona it was 150$.
The muffler and tailpipes were about 70$ but I didn't need any pipe changed.
To shampoo just rent one, and for the steering I am not sure.
HOpe that helps since I just did it on mine and all prices are in CAD.

What is the mileage on the car?? Do you really like the car, do you want to kep the car.

My car ( well actually Renée'* car) is a 1990 Bonneville SSE with around 178,000kms on it. We bought it about 2 years ago and just finally got it on the road in December. We paid after taxes and auction fees and stuff just over 800$ for it. But we put in about 3,000$ to get it on the road. But we both like the car, so to use it was worth the money. As long as the engine and tranny hold up we are good to go.

The car has 157,000 km on it, and when its healthy, during the summer it drives.......absolutely great.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any machine shops in the Ottawa area, or where I wuld go to get a pipe bent? Ex 3" aluminum pipe bent in center to 45 degrees. Anyone?
