Good luck getting an A3 for 18k-22k.
Why not a Civic Si? Assuming you're using the car as show piece, and not as a racer, it fits everything perfectly. Base is about 20,000, and is the ultimate "tuner" car.

hands down Tuner car is the SS/SC....my former roomate has one, and there are SO MANY parts available....not to mention INTENSE has the hookup as well for the LSJ

The SS/SC just got cancelled for production soon here..
The thing with this is, you want something people want to see. The SS/SC isn't a front runner in the fast but cheap car segment yet, although it'* far and away the best american choice. SRT-4 going to the calbier chassis was ridiculous IMO....
