Well I took a long lunch today and test drove car and kinda tweaked/played with system, the highs are great, no bass at all, those 8'* are just not going to cut it. in the trunk I have yet to complete the front stage, which as of now is 4x6 2 way plates and will get 20 watts from a old Yamaha amp. I am out of the Super sonic bass to rock everyone around you for a block, just want some and what I have now is SUCK,ING as far as what it is. I am wondering what steps to take any ideas?

the box looks way too big for 2 8"*

personally I would say you need a 10 that can get loud with nice sound quality.

how many watts do the 8 inch subs get. My box is tiny, and I have some massively sized 8'*. I have a 425W amp, and that gives my decent bass. I think box/amp may be the issue.

I always thought that one great quality sub > two lesser quality subs.

Why switch from the pioneer to the MTX?

Your original one looks smaller, and if it'* a 12 can probably hit lower notes...

I was checking out this post and I just thought I would clear up a common misconception.

All Subs play the same notes doesn't matter about the size 50, 25, 18, 15 ,12, 10 or 8 inch.
The only thing that changes with the size of the Sub is the amount of air it pushes, which is SPL (Sound Pressure Level) the strength of the bass note when it hits. This is the difference that you feel between two, 12'* vs 8'*.

PS Looks good,
Dutch

And I help a bit, the box I took out ported on was tuned at 38HZ, that is very low bass notes so t was very loud, I went to 8'* they were sealed, Tighter bass, not muddy sounding, But not enough. I am out the the BOOM phase, and now want great highs and sound. The 10 are getting 50 watts a peice and have the depth I want or I think.
