Does anyone know if they changed the intakes, or made them so they don't crack, like us lucky owners of xx-94 N/A models..

Ward’* named this proven powerplant one of the 10 best in the world. It’* standard on GT and produces 200 horsepower and 230 lb.-ft. of torque. Improvements for 2004 include:

More powerful engine control module for enhanced capacity

New returnless fuel system reduces evaporative emissions

New vapor purge valve design eliminates a source of emissions

Close-coupled catalytic converter lights off faster for improved emissions

On GTP models, the supercharged V6 adds even more power. It delivers 260 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. The new 5th generation Eaton supercharger includes many enhancements:

A larger and less restrictive outlet port and retuned inlet port improve airflow, greatly improving efficiency

9% fewer rpms are required to deliver the same airflow

13% reduction in power is needed to spin the supercharger while delivering full-rated airflow

The supercharger is quieter and more durable

The engine can run on regular unleaded gas (although premium is recommended for peak performance)

I believe they may be talking about the common complaint once you get into the 40+k miles. A lot of peoples supercharger will make a rattling sound, mine did too. That might be what they fixed in the 5th generation. If not then heck any engine can be quieter. If its more than 1db it could be quieter, right? heh

Premium is what it'* designed to handle but it will retard a little, and change the mixture if it detects say 87 octane gas. You get better performance and milage out of premium, and your engine will prob last a lil longer.
