Not a good start to my day. The VW gets a flat and the POS factory VW jack slips out from under the car and the vehicle comes crashing down on the rotor. WTF.

Did the jack slip on ice or something? Probably a scissor jack? They tend to flex too much and can bend too, if they are not set in on level surface..ask me how I know..
I had my Jeep do the same thing, until I went to the wreckers and picked up a real HD scissor jack with bearing from a older chevy PU truck. Lifts high and wont bend like the cheap crap they make today.

i had a 96 neon. not a heavy car. the jack buckled just as i got the tire off the ground, and i had to call AAA. since then i keep a bottle jack in my spare tire instead of those cheap scissor ones.

The jack was really cheap and crappy and it collapsed. It'* one you turn and the threads are now stripped on it. I guess it lost grip and came down on me. The dealership says the car needs, a rotor, ball joint, and tie rod end. I have the sentury tire guard so I get free replacement tires.

At least it'* all free to get fixed on this car won't cost me a dime. They said it will be fixed tomorrow, but one day doesn't get a rental not a long enough time frame. They gave me a free shuttle ride home. I will be driving the GP tomorrow. Sucks because that car doesn't see snow very often.

They were also talking to me about the maintenance program they have and they want me to extend the mileage on it. It'* a three year old car I don't know how much longer I want to keep it around. Even though it only has 23k miles on it. I like getting a new car every 4 years or so. If I doubled the mileage on the maintenance I would have to keep it another 4 years.

So Glad they are looking after you! Also Glad u did not get hurt! Do not trust the OEM scissors jacks big period. A larger bottle jack is better!
I use a scissor jack for a portable now, but it is real steel, and has the larger base & diameter rod design thru bolts out of the bearing. These GM pick up truck Jacks are strong, and I was lucky to get one of these last time I was at the wreckers.
The red aftermarket jack in photo below turned into a pretzel lifting my Jeep.
I took it back to where I bought it and they all went wow here is your refund and we are pulling them from the shelves! I showed them the GM jack and said this is what a real scissor jack should look like!
