The Tranny? 6 Speed manual. (This is important)
If I'm misinformed, then Pontiac themselves are misinformed, because I got this info straight from their website. the 3400+lbs. is with the 3.5L V6, and I can't Imagine the 3.9L being lighter

Just curious, but they list both a auto w/ manual shift, and a full 6 speed manual tranny. Are these cars FWD (didn't say on the site that Icould see, or show pics of the engine installed). If they are, would they mount to a 3800? Anyone see where I am going with this?

Yes, they are FWD, but I don't know if the manual would hook up to a 3800.

Manual tranny models are usually lighter than their automatic counterparts... and the 3.5 and 3.9 motors are essentially one and the same, just with some displacement and VVT...

I'd rather have the 3.9 myself. 3800'* powerband is made to be streetable, not fast.

The outboard wheels should be decent.

Lots of new cars are getting heavy again, the 05 Mustang is about 100-200 lbs heavier then an early 90'* Gen bonnie...

3.9L 60* V6

It is just a stroked 3.5L which is a bored 3.4L which is a bored 3.1L. The 3.9L has pushed this engine to the max with the stroke and the bore. As for the MPG - they are going to be coming out with DOD in the near future for the 3.9L so that should boost the MPG a little.
