Default Fun with a GTP

Heading up to Salem this afternoon, the freeway opened up to 3 lanes for a good climbing hill. Me and a GTP both nailed it, in and out of loose traffic, so we wouldn't get stuck when it merged back to 2 lanes. He wanted by me, and never made it. We were doing 65 when it opened up, and doing 85-90 as we jockeyed for position.

Really surprised me, I had a slight edge. This tells me he was probably pretty much stock, but not bad for my old SSEi, hanging with a new GTP, and with a slight advantage. He has more stock HP than me and weighs less, but a little extra work on my B more than made up the difference.

Not a kill, but a slight domination. Good enough for this week!

Great job Will. I have been wanting to run a stock GTP now to see how I would do. I haven't had much luck finding anyone to race though. Nobody seems to take the car very seriously. I have a friend who has been talking about beating me once he puts a 195hp 3.4 motor in his S10. I took him for a ride last night and he was very impressed. He couldn't believe from 20mph the car would smoke the tire all the way through first(cold ground). He still wants to race me but I think I crushed his confidence.

Nice work with the GTP. I was just in my friends 2003 GTP yesterday driving around. He is not a fast driver, but he occationally punched it down the road. That thing is very quick. I just watched that boost gauge spike. It was great. I can only imagine driving a SSEi.

Next time you're in town You can drive. I think that GTP would've taken me if it had been even slightly modded. It was fun though. He was a good loser, too. Maybe it'* a Pontiac thing.

Its definitly a Pontiac thing. I am always happy to race another. Its great to see no one giving up on them after the death of the firebird .
