That was an entertaining read.
From a Tech'* perspective, you can't win for loosing some days!
Maybe if some of those folks tried to do the repairs themselves, they would learn what really is involved, and would be more understanding in the service departments.
Most dealers/pro shops make good recommendations.
Customers often neglect their cars,refuse to fix anything, and know how much in the long run they save LOL!
