Default Forum tweaks

Hi everybody,

I made some tweaks to the forum code and the server last night that should decrease the time needed to post a message. Can you tell the difference? More importantly, do you notice anything that seems newly broken?

Thanks,
Jeff

So far it is faster. However it'* morning and the mid and west haven't woken up yet.

That will be the real test.

I set the flood interval to a higher value during our last spammer attack from CD. I'll bump it back.

While on the topic of the spammer thing. I think it is fine where it is IF there is a way to imediately edit posts. I frequently make a mistake and I hate waiting for a while to have to correct it.

I agree. If you can differentiate between editing and new posts, i think we could even raise the "flood interval" which might force people to read entire threads before making hasty posts.

See! See! I was in the process of making my remark more polite when he struck again!

:edit: I'm not saying Boosty makes hasty posts. My original post was a joke, then i edited it to have a completely different meaning directed to members in general.
