ford is stupid
i dont care what the rating says stick it next to the cummins of the same year and you will be suprised what happens the one in my garage has 160,000 on it and reddy for more last owner didnt know what he had and i stole it for 750 it is just waiting for something to put it in
now if i could get the cummins backed by a allison in a 05 ford 3/4 superduity that would be one hell of a truck
or say a 1987 chevy 1 ton 4 door 4X4

My 1994 Dodge Ram3500. 5.9L Cummins.

150k miles without ever having to go back to the Dealer for anything. Boils the tires till I let off the gas. (Unmodified)
16 years old and NOT rusted out.
Runs as strong as the day it came off the lot. And you can put a quarter on the intake manifold (running) and it doesn't move. (I have spent alot of time and money on items that normally wear like brakes, front end, shocks, etc)
Pulled a bulldozer and front end loader till I retired (2003), still pulls a 30 foot boat on a 40 foot trailer @ 8400 pounds, and the tranny has never required maintenance other than frequent filters and fluid.
Still looks sharp and current (Like our Bonne'*)
Did I mention,..... Pulls rusted out Ford POS'* out of ditch'* all winter long.
Stats and Advertising BS from OEM dont mean chit. Show me a truck and what it can do through/after 10-15 years down the road. "round here we don't see many Ford'* that old. And the ones that have made it are pretty fugly banging/ticking/smoking rust buckets. I had an '88 Ford 150 4x4 for going from point A to B, especially in winters. The POS was at the Dealer more times than I care to remember. Started rusting out @ 4-5 years old. By 2004 it sat in my side yard with crap rusting and falling off it continuously with more problems and failures than I care to write/list in one Post.

I see older fords around here that are pretty soild i have a 79 F250 sittin in the driveway now still pretty solid and runs and pulls nice. The only diesel ive drove was a late 90s 7.3 power stroke turbo diesel and i wasnt dissapointed it had about 260k on the clock another buddy of mine had a non turbo power stroke that had about 360k on it and still ran well. But ive also saw some cummins and duramax trucks do damn good and the truck pulls.
Mouse and Venom
please take note to my siggy

only spot that rusted out is over the right rear tire and the bed..but keep in mind it used to be an old plow truck
95 318 4x4 with 101K miles..with some mods..and i love it..i just wish i had the money to fix it
and before anyone says anything about well "look at it now..you havent started it or drove it in 7 months"
well..i bought this truck with bad ball joints, pads and rotors..but right after i bought it i lost my job..and still choose to keep it

Yea you do realize that you can get the same size bed on a Ford that Chevy and Dodge can. It'* called having variety and some people like to have more cab space without driving a boat
