Michael Moore is not a real journalist. He twists and contourts the facts. Not saying that others dont do it as well, but they arent making movies out of it.
When he interviewed one of the senators from MN, and asked if he would sign his kids up to go to Iraq, the senator said yes and that he has two nefews over in Iraq. But from the way it sounds its didnt make it into the movie as happening that way.
Its that way with all of his movies.
I havent seen it but i would like to, not because i support moore but i want to see how wrong he is on his perception of Bush.

I've gotta disagree with you on that. Granted, before you beat me up for it :P , I haven't seen it. But from what I've seen about it, it has a definate anti-Bush slant. I know from just reading things about events in the local newspaper, that anyone can take anything that'* said and turn it around. I guess the whole thing seem like a way for M. Moore to push his view.

Oh, but I digressed...sorry...anyways, about being anti-Bush--if he wasn't so anti-Bush and simply wanted to be "anti-system" then he could portray Bush in a better light, which he seems to neglect to do so. Also, if it was this "eye opening" yet non-Bush slamming film, you wouldn't have so many democrats eger to see it and so many republicans ready to protest it.

You know what...I'm sure I had a point when I started, hopefully it made it in. Off to school, before I get myself in trouble....

When something like this is published, you have to remember that no matter how objective one tries to be, there is no way not to have opinion involved, and thus will have some bias. Remember the movie JFK? Helluva movie, and did have some fiction in it, but it got ya thinkin'. That'* the most that should be expected out of one of these movies.

Now, I know that no one here will watch that movie and take it as Gospel. But I think great success will be had if you let it open your mind, rather than close it. That part is up to the viewer.

Interesting quote

Quote:
George W. Bush: I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers. Thank you.
[brings up his golf club]
George W. Bush: Now, watch this drive.
Anyone heard about film editing? It'* easy to put two non related scenes together to make it look like they happened in sequence. They're showing that same "quote" on the TV ads to try and entice people to see the movie, but it is so obviously constructed it'* not even funny, (although it is comical on a goofy level). In any case, whatever anyone thinks of George, I do believe he is sincere in his belief that we need to keep the terrorists at bay, or they will come back again and again. To say he is doing this for money or oil I think is very short sighted. I do admit if we weren't so dependent on mideast oil, we wouldn't have such a presence in that part of the world, and thus, the radical Islamist would have less of a beef against us. But at this point, we don't have much other choice. Someone has to stand up to these crazies. I wasn't too keen on us invading Iraq, but it is possible that some high level guys know something us little people don't know.

In any case, if we really want to end this conflict with the middle east, we need to stop buying oil from them, and pull out all americans. That'* not going to happen, unless we stop driving SUV'* and Bonnevilles, which we all know suck a lot of oil (in gas form).

In any case, I'm not giving Mr Moore any of my hard earned money. I'm a little curious, but I'll wait until it shows up on cable, if it ever does.

Also keep in mind that is a mojor media slant as well. The terror alert level is not just something so that we know how scared to be. I don't think it was necessarily meant for us to know.

The terror alert level was/is meant more as a guidline for the homeland security forces. IE: Increased watches on subways, increased airport security, increased wateches on bridges and high profile targets.

Each and every law enforcement agency, every bridge authority, every homeland security place (for lack of better word) is supposed to have a plan for each level.

One thing that I believe the government forgot was a way to get the message out efficiently. What are they going to do, call every security place? Mail them a letter? I think the only efficient way is the media.

Food for thought.

And you don't think CNN and other US news agencies don't slightly alter what they filmed to make the story more interesting.... it'* all propoganda.... both sides.

Ever notice the US news is always about breading fear & terror whenever it can.
If the war in Iraq wasn't going on, the top story would always be about a murder, or a suspected bomb, or a shooting, or a warning against food, or a childrens toy that can cause harm. They never start the news off on a happy note.... unless it'* politics.

It'* just something I've noticed from being able to watch both Canadian new broadcasts and American boardcasts on cable.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Michael Moore, he is a fierce Democrat and will present activities of recent years to support his beliefs YES, however, I found that the information presented was interesting. He even stated it was propaganda, cuz thats all America is used to...being flooded with imagery of propaganda

The fact that Saudi Arabia owns 7-8% of TOTAL investments in the US economy nearing 800 BILLION DOLLARS, why the Bin Laden family was flown out of the USA 2 days after 9/11 because of fear of discrimination while other planes were grounded. Why the Saudi embassy has Secret Service protection, how the Carlye Group has so many invested interests in the middle east. Why Haliburton Inc CEO is the US VP. and stands to gain millions of dollars in the Middle East. I found it all very interesting and this is not made up stuff...Americans know about this.

Interesting fact about the Congressmen, he gave credit that ONE US congressman has family fighting in Iraq.

It all comes down to the all mighty dollar and how our NorthAmerican system is based on that dollar. Its not about Republican vs Democrats or US vs the World, or even GWB...its all money.
