On my trip through North Carolina... I had done 489 miles( again almost out of fuel ) I was cruising at about 78mph, with the Ac on, and encountered roadwork...
Upon the mom and pop gas station I was verry happy to find in the middle of nowhere I refueled the car... Took 17.2 gallons... I got as much as I could in there... that math equates to 28.43 mpg... There were a couple of 100+mph runs in there and then a lot of idiling at 10-15 mph....
The rest of the trip home was uneventful... I pulled between 31-32 for the rest of the trip, with the cruise at 76 or 77mph...
My record milage was 33mpg... 33x18 = 594.... But lets go with the sticker rating of 29... 29x18 = 522 Mpg..
Lets say my average is 31... I could travel 558 miles on all 18 gallons... Anymore I do 400 miles and stop...lol
Also keep in mind I was and still am on the stock exahust, and I had the gutted air box with no MAF screen...
And yes the tank is a funky shape...
Meaningless post I know

yeah the gas gauge on the 92-99 is real funky like others have said. The 2000+ is actually normal. I get exactly 250 miles for the first half, and 250 miles for the second half on one tank. Not a 3800, but I get 37 MPG average at 55 MPH. (say on highway with cruise set it'll average at around 37 MPG.) Normal day-to-day driving I'm getting 27.8 MPG. (few minutes of idling, etc.)
The SSEi on the other hand is getting 23 MPG in the same driving conditions.
