Nice one! I was going to recommend buying on the internet; they usually have REALLY good deals that you can't get at a store. Glad you got what you deserved! (I wish t-mobile was that sympathetic )

x2 on the corperate thing or I would NEVER be with Cingular. I mean sh** $25 a month cell phone bill is hard to beat.

I went with the ubercheap v191 i think it is, basic motorolla phone with no camera, it has better sound quality and reception than my buddies razr on cingular.

Well, not ALL RAZRs suck. Take mine, for example:

I've never had a phone with as good battery life OR reception as this phone. I don't know if it would be the best option for you, Hans, as you probably use the Analog network a lot (it doesn't have the capability), but it'* still an INCREDIBLE phone

I have strange tastes in cell phones compared to most but Ive been very happy with my Motorola V188 http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/motorola/v188.html

I had a v180 before and liked it, then got a V188 and unlocked it myself to work with any provider.

I like it because its small, durable, no frills, and purely functional, I can talk and text easily without having to worry about a crappy camera or anything like that.and its got USB connectivity so with the right softward you can make your own ringtones and add pics etc..

They can be had for less than 50 bucks off ebay, and unlocked using a USB cable that is typically less than 10 bucks off Ebay.

I have the software to unlock the vast majority of Motorola phones if youre interested.

I haven't yet but I'm still leaning towads the Sony Ericson from my first post...unless somebody can convince me otherwise. I hold onto my phones (obviously) and want whatever I get to last and survive the occasional bang-up. My blue brick is a tank. I like the antenna loop on the Sony.

A good friend of mine has that phone. I'll ask him about it next time I see him.

The antenna loop adds downforce to keep your phone planted to the side of your head when travelling at high speeds. It also adds about 25 rear-wheel horsepower to your car.

Well,

I'm in IT and was on our support website yesterday looking up some info. to fix a professor'* Sony Treo when I ran across this discount plan for university employees:

The following discounts are available to individual faculty and staff.

- 15 percent monthly service discount
- $25 off any order (online only)
- 25 percent accessory discount
- $50 equipment discount
- Free shipping

I called Cingular and they hooked me up. I told them I wanted the Sony Z525a but she said they didn't have it (would have to order) so how about a RAZR for $80? I told her I could get it for $80 from the regular Cingular website so she came back with $25 and free overnight shipping.

Needless to say, I now own a black RAZR V3.

My boss called right after I did and our secretary is calling today. They should really publicize this deal better on the university website. I'm just glad I found it before I ordered through Cingular'* website.
