Yeah, different providers have better/worse service depending on the region. Verizon was total CRAP in MN just a very few years ago, when they were new here. But, since I signed up with them (someone gave me a Verizon phone), I've had absolutely no problems.

Gotta stick with what people in the area recommend, y'know.....

Got one of those back when I had AT&T, before Cingular bought them out, and it worked pretty well. Sense then though I've changed phones and services a couple of times so now it'* pretty much useless. The extra antenna looks kinda cool though, gotten me mistaken for an unmarked police car couple of times.

As far as Verizon is concerned I stay way from them. There coverage might kick ***, but we had our landline through them for our home phone and DSL, and their cunstomer service and billing department suck. They said they'd have our DSL back up in under a week, took almost a month.
I asked them why, they ssaid they forgot about us because they were busy hooking up new customers. I was ripped, they pushed a paying customer of more than 3 years to the side to hook up newbies!!

I'd suggest buying one passive repeater and trying it in one of your vehicles first.
Ok, anyone got a link to this contraption? Sounds worth it...
