I remember that first GSP BMW.
It was one of the torch relay escorts for the winter olympics in Utah.

I wonder who in the world would see that hood-mounted "Stop" sign when a cop'* blazing through an intersection on a pursuit. Anyhow, it'* nice to see some places still using the Crown Vics and Caprices. A lot of the city departments and sheriffs around here are switching to Impalas, and I have to wonder why. The officers themselves will tell you the older cars can beat the pants off the Impalas. Are the new Imps even rear wheel drive?

No, they definitely are not. We just had this discussion over at ACNA (Aurora Club) recently. The Impalas are front-wheel drive, smaller and more cramped, and generally do not hold up as well as other police vehicles... but they are much cheaper and supposedly handle better in inclement weather, which is why many departments are choosing them. :?

As easy as it might seem to spot these on the highway, they will almost always catch you off guard.

I can't wait to see them. The only ones I know that are like that in simularity are the slick top marked cars.
