Bridge Collapse
They haven't even finished Rescue/Recovery yet (KSTP www.kstp.com is still running live reports from the scene), so anyone that thinks they know how it happened is full of it....

My theory, is that they were resurfacing the bridge, and the concrete decking that they were resurfacing is a MAJOR part of the bridges integrity......
Who'* to say that something wasn't over looked in the process of that?
This whole thing is blown way out proportion 8 ways from Sunday...
This is probably gonna turn into another 9/11 issue, and get drug out forever.

So, I've been watching more footage and it appears to be less and less likely that it was the column supports. They are still intact on the waters edge. The culprit is somewhere along the 390 foot span over the river. The NTSB will figure it out.

It seem these days a lot of 30-40 year old bridges have seen better days and are becoming more and more in need of repair. 40 years ago they didn't have the traffic numbers we have today using these spans, and the design technology and CAD systems as advanced as today in bridge design. I say that all that cash you guys are waisting on war should go to your country'* own infrastructure... ie renewing bridges, instead of rebuilding other war torn countries. I don't mean to get political, or open debate, my main point here is there is BILLIONS of dollars that will be needed in the future to repair our old bridges to avoid more of these tragedies in the future.
