Mustang shifters look REALLY weird, the way they curve and everything

Yeah, but the mustang is supposed to be a muscle car/sports car. Fair just don't cut it in those categories.

aggreed-- i love my bonny'* acceleration and would not trade it .... but if i were to buy a sports car.... i would want some white knuckle action..... not just 'fair accelleration'

It'* not a muscle/sports car.

Muscle cars are normal cars that have a huge engine from the factory. The orginal GTO was a normal car with a huge engine.

And it'* not a sports car, because it doesn't make much for compromises. It'* a pony car. Live axle, faster then normal engine, etc...

Yea... I'd like to hear about the new 05s.....
The base model is 210hp w/ 240lbs and the GT has 300hp w/ 320lbs.... nice....

Ford.ca is a pretty funny site....
If you go there.. select Mustang and select "compare to" other cars....
It lists the "direct competitors" to the Mustang as.... the Cavalier, the Sunfire and the Celica.... LOL...... I don't think so. None of those cars come w/ a V6 even as an option.
Also... if you select, pick any car.... under Pontiac... GTO is not listed.... but the Wave'* are... :P

Such a shifty site..... that'* dirty....

They do look really weird, but really if you sit in it, the shifter really is in the right spot. It is set up well and there is nothing in the way when your trying to shift, and its the perfect distance away IMO. Its nothing like my Olds where its a PITA to get to the shifter.

I think the shifters are almost porsche-esk, in the fact that the handle is right where your arm naturally rests. You don't have to stretch or crunch to get at it.
