I have been working on a 96 explorer...It will start sometimes and run great..then you go to start it and nothing.........just turns over and over then you can smell gas really bad. You can leave it set for a day or two sometimes longer and it will start.....I changed the coil pack...........new plugs and wires........could it be the fuel pump or the regulator........I really am stumped on this one..........

Are all grounds good?

I have a 96 X too, but haven't heard of anything like that. Go over to www.explorerforum.com and register. Post your problem, they've been lotsa help to me!
