Starting problems with 2002 Chevy S10
Got fuel and spark but just turns over and occasionally spits white smoke with heavy fuel smell back out. Changed rotor in distributor, spark plugs. Hooked a computer up to it and got back 3 codes. One for air flow, one for misfire on multiple cylinders and one for HVAC. Fuses are all good. Could it be catalytic converter? Any help would be great. Also, it did this once before a 2 weeks ago, but it corrected itself on the 3rd attempt to start. Worked fine for a week, then went caput for good.
It is possible you have washed down the cylinder walls with fuel, and have lost compression.......I would disable fuel(injector fuse or f/p fuse).......then I would hold pedal to the floor while cranking......do this several times until compression builds back up....may even start while doing this and then die because of no fuel.....then enable fuel....
Of course, white smoke is not good either.....
