Default Service engine light

2003 Tahoe, service engine light is on. Checked for codes. Have none. Disconnected battery to reset engine service light. No good. Light remains on. Looking for any suggestions.

Usually if the CEL is on, but no codes are listed when scanned, then the PCM is typically faulted.

And with most 1996 and newer vehicles, most check engine lights can't be cleared via the old disconnect the battery method. You actually need to use a scanner tool to clear them. When you scanned it the last time, did you "clear" the codes?

No I didn't because I had no codes to clear. That'* why I did the battery thing. I will check my scan tool again to see if I can clear. Good to know that the battery thing doesn't clear the codes. Thanks for that tip
