Default Replace aftermarket radio with oem radio.

Recently bought a 2007 trailblazer with an aftermarket Pioneer radio that is a complicated and non user friendly mess. Will a VIN search tell me what radio was original oem? This pioneer model FH-X830BHS is a double DIN unit. Does this mean the original wiring for the radio has been altered so that replacing with an oem radio will require replacing the oem connector? Will a plain am/fm or am/fm with cd work with oem connector? We like everything about this trailblazer, except this radio. Thanks in advance for any help.

A VIN search at a good dealership might get it. Better yet: Get us a picture of the option tag in the glove box. That will have it.

No telling, depends on how the installer installed it.

With enough adapting, anything is possible. Depends on what specific AM/FM or AM/FM/CD unit you're talking about. These days, many of the aftermarket units rely on wiring kits to adapt to specific vehicles.
