Default Remote starter

2013 Terrain.
Aftermarket remote starter: Autostart AS2381 Two Way LED

Problem: remote starter tries to start the car 3 times then stops. Car doesn't start. When the starter is attempting to start the car all lights on the dash come up normally, I even hear some clicks.

Background:
Remote starter worked flawlessly for 2 years. I didn't use the car at all in Year 3. Car battery died completely and the key could not be taken out of ignition anymore unless I messed around with screwdriver in the emergency key release hole below the steering wheel. At that time I noticed the remote starter did nothing if I pressed any of the keys in transmitter fob. Since then I have changed car battery, battery in the remote starter transmitter fob, and paired the transmitter back with the in-car module.

Any thoughts or guidance is much appreciated 🙂

Welcome to the forums Canter.
May I ask did you install the Autostart AS2381 or did a shop install it for you?

Hi there!
It was installed at the shop I'd reckon. I bought the car from a second hand dealer.

Do you have a voltage ohm meter ? Can you tell us what the current voltage reading from the battery is showing? ie 12.4 volts ? Do you have a OBD2 code scanner ?
Since you are having a problem with removing the key, the ignition may also have to be addressed. Is it the original key in the ignition?

Just so you know, any Installation of any aftermarket remote starting / fob system is quite complex, and should be handled by professional installation shops.
Luckily your manual & wiring diagrams are available online.
Anyone doing this kind of work should solder connections properly & use the correct connectors where applicable,
