Yeah, check the selection adjustment. If it'* halfway out of whack then it won't send hydraulic fluid down the right circuits. If the electronics think it is in park then I believe line pressure is reduced.

Either way, changing a band involves taking it out and disassembling most of it. May as well overhaul it at that point.
