Default Gauges

Sometimes when I start my 2013 duramax none of my gauges work. Glow plug light comes on and so does the check engine light. Blinkers work but you can't hear the relay clicking like normal. High beam indicator will not work either. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm assuming this happens when the vehicle is cold in the morning, so the engine starts, glow plugs turn on, which pull some serious power. Can you monitor the system voltage when this happens?

it'* happened off and on for a year and a half or so. Sometimes even when it'* warm outside and no glow plugs are needed.

So yeah check voltage while the glow plugs are on.

Also cruise control doesn't work. It almost acts like I used the remote start. If all the gauges work the cruise works. Not saying it'* not a voltage thing but once it'* running the alternators are charging.

Any chance we could get a video of the display doing this?

I could but literally nothing but the glow plug light and the check engine light come on. Guages stay down and the display for like the gear selection doesn't light up. I'm wondering if maybe my ignition is going bad possibly.

That wouldn't be the ignition switch if everything else works fine. It sounds like the gauge cluster is going out.
