Default Envoy Headlight Pigtails

Hello,

The problem vehicle is a 2003 GMC Envoy. The problem is the headlight pigatails keep burning out. First off to solve the obvious.. 1. No they are not HID'* or any other aftermarket setup. 2. They are stock bulbs. ie 9006 and 9005, 65 watt highbeam and 55 watt lowbeam, so nothing over powered. Now for prelim fixes...I have replaced faulty pigtails twice within two weeks, once with same gauge connectors and the second time with pigtails that were a step up in wire gauge. Any thoughts?

Same thing happened to my 2000 Blazer, found out the previous owner installed 80 watt bulbs in them. I removed the bulbs, replaced the pigtails and haven't had an issue yet.

Try tracing the pigtail to its ground. I think it may tie into a few other grounds and its not exactly "grounded" very well.
