I'm doing a cam swap on an LS engine....and used the dowels to hold the lifters up, but the Cam won't come out more than a few inches. I have been able to slide it back in but it won't come all the way out...what is the issue?

I assume you've already removed all of the lifters.

Is it coming out until the next set of journals line up with the next set of bearings?
