Default cam my 3.8 liter

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how much a mild cam would cost to put in my bonnevilles 3.8 liter series 2. Also if you knew a good cam kit or had a step by step process to put a mild cam in that would be helpful.

Thanks,
Taylor

Hi Taylor welcome to my favorite area.

There are a couple different vendors offering cams.
Intense-Racing.com
ZZPerformance.com
3800Performance.com

Mild in relation to what? I personally have Intense'* S1X and love it. Haven't come across an owner of it yet that disliked it. It works well in a fairly stock setup and rips up the pavement when you ask for some power.

Although it you listen to me too much, soon you'll have many more mods, a famished bank account and a big smile on your face.

Ok, so I'm not a mechanic or anything here but this is my basic understanding of the camshaft. The camshaft controld when your intake and exhaust valves open and close. By moding the cam you change when your intake and exhaust valves open and close. From my understanding, too much variation can have less of an impact than a mild variation or "mild cam" depending on the modifications that are done to the car. I've got a camshaft in my basement if you'd like picture of how things work and what it looks like.
