Wanted to Update I fixed the truck. I checked all the speed sensors and circuits which all tested good. So I tried to follow the alldata pin point test which is to use a tech one to check operation of the solenoids. I do not have a tech 1 so I basically checked continuity on all the solenoid circuits which had no issues, it lead me to believe that the ignition switch failed because it is so intertwined in these circuits so I basically just threw in the part and bam. Speedo works, Tach works, gear shift position works, shifts through all the gears perfectly. it was a 140.00 dollar part... which sucks, but hey my truck works so I am happy. Thanks for your help rjolly87

I would let it ride a bit before calling it fixed. You mentioned that the last timeit acted bad on the second start.

Hopefully it holds together...

I agree I have started several times and driven over 60 miles today and not even the slightest hiccup. I will be driving this all next week for work and I will update if the repair is still holding up.

Thanks for the update! Glad you nailed it in the first shot. This is a perfect example of how a competent mechanic approaches the situation as a whole, and doesn't just start throwing parts at the codes that are popping up as symptoms of the root cause.

Great work!

Thanks for your help and keeping me focused. I wanted, and was tempted to start throwing parts at it, but i broke down and just tested components which all pointed to one thing. If I have any other confusing issues I will for sure post them to this site.
