Default 2500HD WT key fobs?

I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0 4x4 crew cab WT that I am trying to make as non-WT as I can. The truck came with upgraded power door locks / windows and cloth seats from the factory. Unfortunately there are no key fobs for my truck and so far a dealer ship is advising me I can not get them because they were never programed from the factory and to do this I would have to have them install a new computer $500. I mentioned maybe having a custom car shop install an aftermarket keyless entry / remote start package and this dealership warned me against doing that advising doing that lowers the life of the factory computer. Ironically they insisted I forget the key fob option....and yep you guessed it...trade my truck in for a model with key fobs...lol.

So my question is: Anyone else ran into this issue and does that appear to be my only option...$500 for key fobs? :p

the build sheet does show STD KEYLESS DOOR LOCK DELETED

**upgrades to date: tinted windows, blacked out all chrome, smoked cab lights, led light bar ( in front bumper trans cooler hole), maxxcam3 2.5" leveling kit, rear bumper flush mounted led floodlights**

That is something that I have never run into.......the computer I think they are talking about is the BCM......I know that when you get a new BCM, that you have to program the options, that the vehicle has, into it......if you miss/forget an option, in some cases, you can't change it when the programming is done........I think this is the situation you are in......but I think your dealership is wrong, that an after market device can't be installed.......I think it can with no problem ......

Lowers the life expectancy of the BCM? Ridiculous. You should be fine with an aftermarket system. There'* no reason it will not work if properly installed.
