Added one more vote!

Not bad for an old design that can get better MPG than most modern 4 cylinders.

It does me proud....

My Bonnie IS a fuel efficient car (compared to what else is hanging around the garage.) It'* paid for, cheap to keep on the road, does ok on gas..It stays.

It would take several years of 5 and 6 dollar per gallon gas to make a new car worth the expense. Meanwhile, I can keep driving this one around on days when the motorcycle isn't an attractive option (forecast: RAIN)

I'm well-aware that some people might call BS on what I'm about to say.

I have achieved 35 MPG in my SE with 3.05 FDR going 70 MPH on cruise. Yes the land was mostly flat (Rochester, NY to Lancaster, Ohio)

Yeah, that'* really the way to go. I'm even considering a 2nd axle for the '87 Camaro. The 3.23 rear end makes for great neck-snapping launches, but it'* hard on fuel consumption rates. (It'* a shame I gave up that Borg-Warner 2.77 axle years ago.)

Come to think of it...this kind of topic is like a flash-back to the mid 1970'*.... Back in the days when we had a national speed limit of 55mph to conserve fuel. (Whip out the 8-tracks and in your best Sammy Hagar scream "I Cant Drive Fifty-Five!!!" )

Btw, how you doing down there...smoke getting to ya yet?

Wow, big thread! My Bonneville gets around 24 on the highway when I don't quite get the 3-4 shift, but otherwise I'm set. I told my Honda friend that I get about 28 on the highway, and he was confused. He still thinks I'm lying.

Well, you guys are doing great.
I get 18 mpg overall in the DTS. I won't give it up. I drive 4 mile per day to and from the park and ride to get on the bus to work. I only put on 700 miles last month
