Not a chance. Like others have said, fuel economy is really quite good for these cars. Seems like my fuel economy has gotten better with time!

I am sure the Montero will go before the Bonneville. as long as I keep getting at or close to 400 miles out a tank of gas then the Bonnie is the gas miser of my fleet.

Gas would have to get into the $8 to $10 / gallon (at least) region for it to make sense to get rid of the H-body for purely economic reasons.

I believe that price could happen within the next 12 to 18 months, if only briefly.

My Bonneville is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles I've owned so far. So I'm already driving my 'economy' car... lol

Before you decide to sell, you might want to do the math on the car you intend to replace it with. Overall cost difference might surprise you.

Not a whole lot into the bonne, but I LOVE IT. So I hope to keep this thing till I die. And If gas goes much above 5 bucks a gallon I will go find a motorcycle and ride that around in the summer.

If gas gets ungodly high I have an ace up my sleeve. We used to have a room tenant for a few months and gave us some electric bike in lieu of 1 months rent. And nobody told me about it until about 2 weeks ago. I got this thing to go 30mph and it can go highway speeds .

The only cons are when the batteres die and I'm still away from I have to pedal it. and the thing is HEAVY (100 pounds) and getting it to spped is tough. But a good workout which I need.

Oh, and when it rains. Obviously.

X2, my friends Ford Focus a supposed Economy car only gets 31 mpg highway. When I told him I have gotten 31 in the past he was surprised. Should have seen the look.
I only drive about 2,500 miles per year and most of it around town. The cost of a new car, and property taxes, would far exceed what I am paying now.
If they made one that gets 40 around town, I would consider it and use the bonneville for highway trips.
The Prius is one but its too Ugly and not my style.
I may have to sell one Bonneville if my mother in law gives my wife her new car.
