They got you too? I've been told about a V8 Bonneville. I just stared at him.

I always wanted to do a RWD conversion to a Bonneville. But it'd have to be an LS7 ZO6 engine 505 hp.

After driving a supercharged 3800, the average person can definitely make the mistake of claiming it is V8-powered just because of the performance. I rode in a buddy'* Park Avenue Ultra for the first time, and he was raving about the acceleration. I made a comment about how stout the L67 is, and he said something to the effect of, "No way this has a V6! It takes off way too fast!"

I was forced to open his owner'* manual and prove the error of his ways

Still, as Bugsi said, ignorant car salesmen are plentiful. As long as you know what you're looking at, don't pay any mind to off-the-wall claims he might make.

You could play his mistake against him and get a better price.
Pop the hood and look really disappointed "Aw its not a v8 its just the same v6 everyone else has. Well at that price I'm not really interested.." Now that the hook is baited, keep quiet and sad looking while he ponders his next move...

Thats awesome... I pulled several similar moves on the moron sales staff that worked at the dealership where I got my 2001 SSEi. By the time I was done with them I had forced them to knock almost 5K from the price!
